Things to do - general

The Mother City is fortunate to have some crown jewels, the Waterfront is one of these. It is the most visited destination in South Africa and combines shops, bars, restuarants, movies, museums and great activities.

The setting is a working harbour framed by the spectacular Table Mountain.

If you are looking to relax, flip around the city by helicopter or simply sip on a glass of white wine and people watch the Waterfront is for you.


More than enough restaurants can be found in Waterfront, but to just name a few worth a visit we would recommend you to go to Baia seafood restaurant, Hildebrand offers traditional dishes from all regions of Italy as well as various scrumptious seafood, red meat and venison options. All Hildebrand’s pastas are freshly hand-made daily, Citygrill Waterfront’s best steakhouse or Den Anker the setting is spectacular!

What to do

There is plenty to do in Waterfront definitely worth a visit is Robben Island. You could also experience either high powered or relaxing boat cruises, visit Chavonnes Battery Museum, go to the Aquarium or go on a helicopter flip.


When you are looking for a nice bar or a bite to eat, there are some places where you will find everything you need. You could visit Basculebar whisky wine and cocktail bar, Ferrymans was the first tenant in the Waterfront, cocktail lounge Alba or Quay4 who offers an impressive range of beers on tap.
