Sea and Rock Villa is a spectacular three-floor property that lives up to its name by covering an entire mountainside area with exquisite vistas over the pristine Camps Bay. The unit is incredibly spacious, sleeping up to eighteen people, with decks just as large as the interior. Outdoor rooms are furnished with pergolas, controlled-water fed pot planting and a big ying and yang shaped Zen garden. Its design is similar to that of the rocky environment textures, whilst taking advantage of all the outdoor living space with saltwater pools and Jacuzzis. This incredible property is able to act as either three detached apartments, each sleeping six people on their dedicated floors, a main house and guest upper level – each with their own dedicated swimming pool and Jacuzzi, or as one triple-floor villa joined to each level by steep rock steps. The design is abundant in natural materials of signature balau timber decking and in the interior, travertine tiling and Caesar-stone. The unit is green, lessening water use through use of an electronically controlled watering system, rainwater tank irrigation recycling and solar panels on the rooftops.

The guest suite/main bedroom is located on the first floor, above the garage and storage rooms. It opens onto a spacious patio and boasts fantastic features such as swirling pebble and a grass-effect Zen-style garden area filled with cacti and quartz rocks. In the evening, spot-lights switch on that help in leading you up the wooden steps to a plunge pool. This light in the dark is a gorgeous sight, as ultra-violet lighting above converts the swimming pools into glowing gems. Otherwise, feel free to take a swim in the close by Jacuzzi. The first level apartment houses four, with a luxurious king size bed and a double sleeper couch in the lounge. The lounge contains a big LCD television, DVD/CD player and iPod docking stations. The main bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space, and comes with its own en-suite bathroom.

The unit is decorated in crisp whites, turquoises, emerald greens and shades of brown, with dashes of green and blue mosaic, glass tiles emphasising the nautical theme. Raw silk curtains furnish the entire villa and original Ian van Zyl African wildlife paintings adorn the walls. The second level has high ceilings and a fully equipped kitchen, including a gas hob, double electric oven, double fridge/freezer, ice dispenser, etc) The upper mezzanine floor boasts an open plan island with bar stools, perfect for sipping on cocktails and socialising. The back of the level opens out to a scullery, pantry and laundry area. From here you can also access the top storey via extra stairs. Big, unique metallic animal horns create the door handles on the front entrance door, drawing the eye. An enormous glass dining table and faux animal hide chairs take up a large area of the mezzanine level. A lower floor creates an informal living area, featuring a pebble-bed gas fireplace and leather suite of furniture. Big glass sliding deck doors with American shutters lead outside. The enormous exterior patio accommodates an incredible heated rim-flow infinity pool, terracotta-mosaic dining tables and wooden deck furniture – ideal for outdoor entertainment with gas barbequing facilities. Endless coastal vistas include the infamous Robben Island and, to the back and across the bay, the 12 Apostle Mountain range and Lion’s Head.

The three bedroom suites all have immediate access to the veranda through glass deck doors and are all adorned with raw silk curtains and neutral colour schemes. Two bedrooms share a bathroom that comes with a gorgeous Jacuzzi bath tub, double basins and spacious showers set against mosaic tiles. The third en-suite room can be detached and converted into a self-contained main suite with its own kitchenette, lounge and double sleeper sofa. The third floor boasts stunning crystal and silver chandeliers, and houses an open plan bar space with a few drink fridges that aid in entertaining in the lounge and dining areas, as well as give emphasis to the gorgeous indoor barbeque. Finishes in mahogany and Caesar-stone can be found in the utilities area of the unit, which includes scullery, pantry and laundry rooms. Massive glass panels set in the high walls enhance the spaciousness and rays of sun in the unit, and also provide tremendous views of the surrounding mountains.

The living room is dominated by a beautiful L-shaped kudu leather sofa and contains wall-to-wall concertina-folding deck doors with American shutters. The exterior pergola is an appealing finish, supplying welcomed shade as an expansion to the large patio. The majestic vistas here can be admired from the outdoor dining table or various sun loungers. There is also another Jacuzzi found here from which to admire the spectacular vistas of the emerald ocean. A separate study/office space is available in this unit, offering 3GB broadband Wi-Fi capacity. Each bedroom contains an abundance of wardrobe space, set against high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling deck doors that lead out to a veranda.

The main en-suite bedroom comes with a luxurious king size bed, a spacious walk-in closet and a splendid silver-suede chaise-longue on which to relax. The colour scheme of this room includes shades of pearl, silver, black and white and is enhanced by a stunning zebra art piece. The bathroom is tiled in travertine and houses a deluxe stone bath tub. Each room has its own air conditioner and excellent ocean views with immediate access to the patio areas. They also have their own LCD televisions and DTSV. Every bathroom and kitchen comes with under floor heating and wonderful heated towel rails. Garage parking is provided for four vehicles, with off-street parking supplying space for an additional five. The unit is fully protected by a top-notch security system, and a separate entrance area for staff and maintenance is provided, so as not to in any way disturb you during your fantastic vacation in the Mother City.
